A question about the www

Post by Individual »

Why does the URL http://www.dhammawheel.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; work, but the URL doesn't work without the "www". I've never seen that happen before and I'm just a bit curious.

It should work. Examples:
http://www.google.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://google.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But Dhammawheel is different:
http://www.dhammawheel.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://dhammawheel.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Is there any way this could be fixed? I don't usually type the "www" when going to websites.

It works for me (with or without the 'www'). Maybe it is your browser?

Does anyone else not get it to load without the www ?

worked for me as well

understanding it has the nature of a mirage,
cutting off Māra’s flower-tipped arrows,
one should go beyond the King of Death’s sight.”

It works now. It didn't work earlier... Between now and then, I updated Firefox, though, so I suspect it was a bug in Firefox.

Good, glad it's working now. :thumbsup:

Another thing you can do is bookmark it and put it in your toolbar for a handy way to get to it. Using Firefox, you can click and drag the favicon to your toolbar and then the link with the favicon yellow wheel will show in your toolbar for easy access.
