During 2013 Vassa, Sayadaw U Kovida will conduct 3-months Meditation Retreat at Nandaka Vihara from 23rd July to 23rd October. Sayadaw U Kovida is a meditation teacher mainly teaching foreign yogis (meditator) in Pa Auk Tawya Forest Monastery. Sayadaw has 17 Vassas, being ordained in the Maha-visutarama Monastery in 1996. He has practiced meditation in Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre at the main centre in Mawlamyine under the guidance of the Most Venerable Pa Auk Sayadaw and other Sayadaws such as Sayadaw U Revata etc. Later on Sayadaw U Kovida began to teach meditation in Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre. Currently, both Sayadaw U Revata and Sayadaw U Kovida teach mostly foreign meditators in Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre. * Sayadaw U Kovida has also taught in meditation retreats in foreign countries such as Korea (2010) and Latvia (2010). He has also given Dhamma talks in other countries such as Singapore (2010), Malaysia (2011) and China (2013).
Nandaka Vihara is honoured to be able to invite Sayadaw U Kovida to teach meditation here during Vassa 2013 period. We are open for registration from all who want to come to learn meditation. Due to limited space, priority will be given to those who can register for longer periods of meditation. You can register for 3 months or 2 months or 1 month or weeks or days; but priority will be given in chronological order.(Edit: I think he means priority will be given to longer term yogis).
