Business Trip to Taiwan - References?

Post by Zenainder »

Good afternoon forum!

I will be on a business trip to Taiwan for a week and will be arriving Saturday. I believe Taiwan is predominately Buddhist? Any ways, does anyone here know any bhikkus over yonder? I am hoping to make a visit some evenings while I am there.

Kind regards,

Zen

Taiwan is a big place with many large cities. There are many renowned Mahayana centres such as Dharma Drum Mountain, Fo Guan Shan, Chung Tai Shan.

But if you are looking for Theravada centres, there is a Pa Auk centre called Taiwandipa (http://www.taiwandipa.org.tw/)

Ven Huifeng, (originally from New Zealand, and a recent PhD from Hong Kong) only posts here occasionally, but can be found over on Dharma Wheel. He teaches at Fo Guan Shan. You might contact him:

I am particularly interested in Theravada centers. I wish I could relay where I will be staying, but I haven't a clue (will find out after we land in Taipei).
