I'm sure you know it already, but what a great reading this sutta makes for a wedding ceremony.

(though I must admit it always puzzles me a bit when considered in line with other teachings...alwats feels kinda eternalist. But I guess a little eternalism never hurt on a wedding day! :smile: )

I'm sorry to hear that. Your social life is now over. Say goodbye to all of your friends. Because you will never see them ever again.

I've seen it happen before. Getting married is a faster way to disappear than publicly insulting a dictator in a third-world country.

That's what one of my friends told me after I got married. The racquetball, gym companions, chess team, started to fade away to the new responsibilities.

P.S: That is a great wedding Sutta that was contributed above. another example of the Buddha's genius in adapting the teaching to the listener.
