Growing your own food.

Hi everyone! For the last couple of years I've been growing most of my food except for grains. We buy raw milk from the lady down the road, I make my own yogurt and cheese. My husband and I have went organic, local, and growing our own food for health and independence. We have seen a huge improvement in health and we are not so overwhelmed by inflation regarding the food we buy. I grew up this way so it hasn't been a very difficult journey, except for finding grains/dried legumes that are organic and not infected with GMOs. My husband has never had a garden or livestock and he has been a joy to work with. We have grown so much closer working and cooking together, gardening and eating food one has grown has been amazing for building healthy relationships. I have 1/4 acre of gardens and a flock of chickens, we buy everything else we need from local growers that are organic and involved in our community. I would like to share in our adventures. If I have started a thread that has already been started somewhere else please direct me to the proper thread and I will post my adventures there. I find gardening is very much like meditation, yoga, and practicing the virtues. When you depend on your actions and nature for the food you eat all sorts of worries come up and must be dealt with correctly. Also being bendable in mind and body to adapt to natures changeable nature comes in very handy. Gardening barefoot has been very healing as well. There is something in the dirt that seems to be so calming and healing.

Yes, there should be another thread in the fitness and Wellbeing forum on vegetable gardening that I started a couple of years back. If you trawl through that forum you should be able to find it.
I look forward to hearing about your adventures in cultivation.
Kind regards,
Ben
