Questions on Kamma
indian_buddhist wrote:I am trying to understand Kamma (Seed) and Kamma-phala (fruit of the seed).
My question is :- One Wholesome/Unwholesome/Neither wholesome or unwholesome Kamma has been done in a situation then does the exact situation needs to come into being for that kamma to become ripe?.
To give you a simile:- Suppose for your own selfish reasons you hurt someone who loves you or you leave someone who loves...........The Phala would need the same situation to happen again to ripe?....Like YOU have to fall in love with someone and then that someone will ditch you .
Or the bad Kamma of leaving that girl will be repaid in other forms irrelevant to the original situation (Like you getting Ill or getting a disease for the original bad kamma of ditching a girl who loves you).
I hope you understood about my first question.
2. My second question is that :- Buddha has said that it is better that you get the Phala in this life itself because if NOT then your accumulated Kamma which did not get an opportunity to ripen (phala) would have accumulated so much that it could decide your next rebirth (next realm of existence).
I know the Buddha said that it is useless to predict or link Kamma and results.
But forgive me if I ask this :- Do people who move closer towards Enlightenment have quicker results of Kamma and Phala (like within a Month or so) and people who are far away from Spirituality and Enlightenment have Longer gap between Karma and Phala?.
