In my more unmindful periods I can easily waste several hours a day on wikipedia, reading about small carribean nations, giant speckled insects and the nuances of cardboard construction.

The issue with the 'masturbation' analogy here is that there is no 'finish' to sense desire through the mind. Usually I 'pedia 'till I get frustrated with the fact that i've spent all day on the 'pedia. Then I 'beat my breast' and lament my situation and maybe go do the dishes or something.

I dunno...

I like Buddhism
"For a disciple who has conviction in the Teacher's message & lives to penetrate it, what accords with the Dhamma is this:
'The Blessed One is the Teacher, I am a disciple. He is the one who knows, not I." - MN. 70 Kitagiri Sutta

Many hours of eye-candy and stuff. Just what you need for going weak sighted and getting hairy palms and sapped energy and going feeble minded.

The truly scary thing is the risk of going blind from such cyber self-flagellation is actually quite real...
"As Buddhists, we should aim to develop relationships that are not predominated by grasping and clinging. Our relationships should be characterised by the brahmaviharas of metta (loving kindness), mudita (sympathetic joy), karuna (compassion), and upekkha (equanimity)."
