I have been trying to figure out what you meant by this posting, but have to admit that my understanding of English just breaks down here. What did you mean? :?:

Hi Kare

Hi Retro
but why not both?
Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

I am surprised no one has so far grouped together the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, the Anatta-lukkhana Sutta, and the Aditta-pariyaya Sutta. Bhikkhu Nanamoli groups them together as the "three cardinal discourses of the Buddha."

Hi Kare

I know I shouldn't speak for another poster, but my interpretation was that it would be nice to see a list of the Suttas that were included in your Anthology.

Ah! Finally I understand! :rolleye:

OK, it's a long list. Often we chose to include just a part - a few paragraphs - from the longer suttas. And we also picked several different paragraphs from some of the longer texts - that is why for instance the Mahaparinibbanasutta appears at several places in the list.

The anthology (in Norwegian) will be printed later this year. There are plans to have it available for sale, and copies will also be presented as gifts to libraries etc. The anthology will also be made available on the net for free download.

In addition to this anthology in Norwegian, the same selection of texts will also be available in Pali. Then it will be possible to see exactly what paragraphs and texts are included in the anthology, and anyone can check the translation against the source-texts. If someone is interested in this Pali version, send me a PM and I will send it in a mail.
