Hi, hi, hi. :)

Hi guys,

I'm Rob. I'm living in South-Central Pennsylvania, US.

Not a great place, but nice enough where I can get some peace and quiet.

I just recently was at a teaching with Jack Kornfield -- GREAT Teacher! -- and Stanislav Grof. It was one of the famous Insight and Opening retreats at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY. Anyway, his instruction led me to question my practice a lot. I'm currently practicing Tibetan Buddhism -- working on my ngondro. I feel as though I was really getting lost in idealism, and Jack brought me back to the earth. Since the retreat I've been practicing breath-mindfulness, and feel more in contact with what is really going on inside.

I've been questioning my intentions quite a bit, and find myself at a cornerstone of my practicing-life. Should I continue on the path of Vipassana, Tibetan Buddhism, or both.

So, anyway, here I am -- exploring. Seeing what's going on.

Lots of love, folks,

Rob

Good luck in resolving this issue. It's one that I understand can cause some people a lot of consternation, particularly if they've broken or are at risk of breaking certain vows etc.

Metta,

If you have asked me of the origination of unease, then I shall explain it to you in accordance with my understanding:
Whatever various forms of unease there are in the world, They originate founded in encumbering accumulation. (Pārāyanavagga)

Hi there Rob

Should I continue on the path of Vipassana, Tibetan Buddhism, or both.

If I may offer my opinion, it's a decision that only you can come to, and probably requires a lot of reflection.
Something to sleep on, like a good pillow.

Hi Rob!
Welcome to Dhamma Wheel.
Some teachers recommend that you practice one path to the exclusion of all others for a while. Perhaps that is what you need to do. See how vipassana benefits you - then you can make an informed decision.
I hope you find some support and sustenance here.
cheers

Thanks for the warm greetings, folks.

I'm finding much to be contented with, in all of the link postings and so forth.

Lots of love!
