More Imaginative Color Scheme for Topic Borders

Post by greenphantom »

Eyes are getting fuzzy from luminescence orange glare
in contrast to the black borders of Dharma Wheel http://www.dharmawheel.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
suggest that this forum setup after an afterthought or
fallout of splinter faction from Esangha :P

PS This Forum needs a better color scheme for Topic Borders
through use of light pastel shades instead screaming red for admin fonts

Smilies also kind of distract and detractfrom the flow of discussion and
best done in black and white instead of yellow

What? I think I am missing somthing here but what does that mean?

I think the color scheme is fine!
Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

The text and background for the text includes black, white, and blue. The frames and header include red, yellow, and orange, thus, the five colors of the Buddhist flag; the colors that emanated from the Buddha after enlightenment (Vinaya I. 25).

At other forums where the colors are more black and white and gray, people complain that it is not colorful enough, so matter what colors are used, there will always be some who will have different tastes. Thus, we go with the colorful scheme of the Buddhist colors.

I think Dharmawheel was setup with that color scheme so as to Imitate the "Grey Forum" :quote:

The yellow/orange is a rather obvious choice for a Theravada site:

I don't come here to feed a desire for sensory stimulation. The present colors serve their purpose which is to differentiate blocks of information.

Mind is Empty
Emptiness is Clear Light
Clear Light is Union
Union is Great Bliss

I agree. I wasn't suggesting anyone change it, I was just pointing out that it has obvious colours in reply to comments about it trying to look like other sites.

Multiple optional color themes might be nice, if possible.

I really like the color scheme here and wish they would copy it on Dharma Wheel. The main reason I don't go there is because it looks so grey and depressing.

Our eyes might see the colour, but our mind sees the like and the dislike.

So long as it functions, it's fine :)

This is a very peculiar conversation!
