Do you have any regret that you struggle to let go?
Do you have any regret that you struggle to let go?
For me, my only regret that I struggle with involves a special girl I met a little over 4 yrs ago. She and I met during a time when my life was in turmoil, so I never took the opportunity to go out with her. Since then I have not met another that gave me a deep connection that I had with her. I since moved away and she probably did as well, which means I will never see her again. I tried to let this go but sometimes I my mind would wonder how she is doing. I know it is foolish to hold unto something like this but it is a regret that I struggle to let go.

Love is the mother of misery, Dugu.
I hope the memory becomes a prescient reminder of the danger in attachment.
And yes, there are some things that I struggle to let go of as well.

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

Not any more...I giggle when I catch glimpses of "hanging on". Hanging on to what...another dust bunny in my head!

Hi Dugu,
"There is nothing worth having or being."
...I can't remember who said this (possibly Ajahn Buddhadasa), but I have found it to be very useful advice.

Four types of letting go:
1) Giving; expecting nothing back in return
2) Throwing things away
3) Contentment; wanting to be here, not wanting to be anywhere else
4) "Teflon Mind"; having a mind which doesn't accumulate things

It's hard to say. Probably, but none that I'm consciously aware of at the moment.
It's obviously dumb to have regrets, but they're hard to let go of.

Hi Dugu,
Another quote for you...
"If you let go a little you will have a little peace, if you let go a lot you will have a lot of peace, if you let go completely you will have complete peace and freedom." - Ajahn Chah
