Help with Buddhist History

Can anyone point me in the direction of a really good book or website on the history of Buddhism? (theravada mostly but mahayana as well)

I dislike the title, but Buddhism For Dummies gives a great account of Buddhist History. It also gives an account of how each school came to be, and brief bios of some great teachers.
