Hi Peter,

The smilies don't annoy you, your mind goes out and annoys the smilies. :meditate:

With Metta,

Guy
Four types of letting go:

1) Giving; expecting nothing back in return
2) Throwing things away
3) Contentment; wanting to be here, not wanting to be anywhere else
4) "Teflon Mind"; having a mind which doesn't accumulate things

I don't know about annoying, but there certainly are a couple of incongruous ones.

Exhibit a) :guns:

Exhibit b) :rules:

Exhibit c) :ban:

Exhibit d & e) :woohoo: :jumping:

Exhibit f) :tantrum:

Anyway I'm gonna get back to the :coffee: and :reading: while I try to have a  and cultivate the  as a foundation for some :meditate:

  and :anjali: to all.

Most of them are one-dimensional and lack subtlety. How often do we really roll on the floor laughing?

I miss the smiley face tipping his hat that the grey forum has.

Thats true, nothings THAT funny.
Which reminds me of the conversation between Mick Jagger and the Veteren Jazzer George Melly.
" Mick how did your face get so lined ?"
" They are laughter lines George"
" Mick... nothings that funny."

I have decided that I am going to :spy: experiment with using smileys completely :alien: arbitrarily.

Smileys are the vermin of online communication.
Soon, all we'll be doing is grunting and posting smileys.
It makes my blood run cold thinking that perhaps some of you are already there - beyond help...
“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”
- Cormac McCarthy, The Road

Learn this from the waters:
in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.
