Hey from TN

Post by Bonsai »

I am growing more interested in Buddhism, and I am a forum junkie, so here I am. :) I have a Christian background, but one not too strong. I am attracted to Buddhism for peace of mind. Right now I am simply focusing on practicing meditation (learning from Mindfulness in Plain English), but I also ordered some books on Buddha, and the history of Buddhism (Old Path White Clouds, The Heart of Buddha's Teachings, and Gesture of Balance) to learn as much as I can.

I love reading, and I am a writer lacking an agent and published book. ;)

Glad to be here! :D

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

Thanks zavk.

If by cultivate, you mean I bought one at Walmart, can't remember the last time I gave it water (I should probably do that right now), and generally leave it alone, then yes I do cultivate bonsai. :)
