Greetings all,
I have seen these depictions of the Buddha in several forms (paper cards, posters, etc.). They are my favorite depictions of the Buddha. Recently I saw a picture of a meditation hall that had the Buddha in different poses, all in this same fashion. I was just wondering if anyone can provide any information on what country they originated from or anything interesting? Here is a link to an example below. This particular one is, I believe, painted on a cloth for hanging. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Justin
Its Indian. You can see street-vendors selling religious posters of the Buddha and other Hindu, Sikh and Christian religious figures in cities and towns in India. They're all in the same Indian 'pop-art' style.
kind regards
Ben

Greetings,
I'm pretty sure Ben is right... the only other alternative could be Sri Lanka.
Metta,

If you have asked me of the origination of unease, then I shall explain it to you in accordance with my understanding:
Whatever various forms of unease there are in the world, They originate founded in encumbering accumulation. (Pārāyanavagga)'We should not congratulate someone on the success of their misdeeds, but on the contrary should endeavour to advise him or her to lead a more skilful and wholesome life. If such advice is ignored then we can only give up and let go' - Phra PanyapatipoDharma Wheel (Mahayana / Vajrayana forum)
