A great big 'ditto' to Vardali from me too! E-Sangha was my stepping stone too.
...
Despite all the problems I for one am sad to see the end of the E-Sangha era.
Me too. I learned a lot there.

Same here. It may not be time yet to say the era is over...
E-sangha outlived its usefulness sometime ago. It is natural for things to split apart, and E-Sangha could not be everything to everyone. Even if E-Sangha were to return, it is most unlikely that I would be participating much, if at all, and certainly not as a mod or an admin.

Fun to see you here. Can we expect to see you elsewhere online if an inter-sectarian forum were to pop up that suited your tastes or are you forum celibate these days?

I am extremely busy these days, not "forum" celibate. Lots of folks still track me down, ask questions and so on-- but generally through face book.

Interesting blogs. Good to see you have some stuff cooking there.
There is also a companion Forum to this one, for Mahayana / Vajrayana, --> http://www.dharmawheel.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This thread will remain locked. While Malcolm Smith’s (Namdrol) assessment is that E-Sangha is now defunct, the final word is really resides with Leo (Teyes) if it is going to remain in its present state or find a new incarnation. If anyone has any definite information, please leave a msg with one of the admins or mods and we will post it.
If we have a confirmed death of E-Sangha from Leo himself, we can then open something of a carefully moderated "lessons learned" style post-mortem thread.

As Tilt has advised, there has been no official word that E-Sangha has been shut down in any permanent sense. The E-Sangha portal page still shows Teyes requesting assistance.
Taking that in mind, the flurry of comments reflecting on E-Sangha's legacy have been removed from this topic so that this topic can once again focus exclusively on E-Sangha news.
If you have any such news, please inform one of our staff and we will post it for others to hear.

The E-Sangha offshoot "Buddhist Community" has been taken offline.
Here is a response that a concerned user received from the Abuse Department of the site host....
Due to complaints form yourself and many others on the forums and no response from the server owner each time I tried to have this corrected, the server has been taken down until it is agreed to be fixed.
