This seems to be a strange word:

The Paṇṇa word you show above does not have the accent mark over the second a. Maybe that makes it different?

Kara seems to be defined in the present tense.

Kara [fr. kṛ] 1. (adj.) ( -- ˚) producing, causing, forming, making, doing, e. g. anta˚ putting an end to; pabhaŋ causing splendour; pāpa˚ doing evil; divā˚ & divasa the day -- maker, i. e. the sun;

As far as I understand in Pali, say, bla + ablabla make together blāblabla :)

Anyway, my word is paṇṇa - leaf, writing "paper"
