I just accumulated enough repayments from the micro loans I made through KIVA to make a new loan. There is a Theravada group on KIVA so be sure to join the group when you join KIVA. You can sellect a borrower by sex, location, or type of business. As the loans are paid back, KIVA puts the money in a credit account. When you have accumulated sufficient funds you can re-lend the money. I started with four loans of $25 each. These loans have paid enough back that I was just now able to lend to a fifth person. I think it is a wonderful way to help people while on a limited budget myself.
Here is the link.

To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.
