If you were stranded on a desert island, and could only have 3 books, which 3 would you take? They dont have to be Dhamma books either.
For myself in particular order:
1. Food for the Heart by Ajahn Chah
2. The Dhammapada by John Ross Carter
3. The Connected Discourses of the Buddha: A Translation of the Samyutta Nikaya by Bikkhu Bodhi

Hi BBB
Ok, three books, that's tough, but can I take my computer too?
And, who do I have to share with? Do I get a choice?
Is it a kids-free desert island, or is it 'family-friendly'?
Does the desert island have a recent history of military coups?
And what's the exchange rate?
Cheers
Ben

A wilderness survival guide
A medical guide
A book of maps

"To reach beyond fear and danger we must sharpen and widen our vision. We have to pierce through the deceptions that lull us into a comfortable complacency, to take a straight look down into the depths of our existence, without turning away uneasily or running after distractions." -- Bhikkhu Bodhi

some sort of military field guide...
some sort of farming/gardening guide
im not really sure what else.. i'm not sure if id take a nikiya or a meditation text... i mean with no one to deal with i'm not sure a lot of the suttas would be relivent, you really cant be too immoral alone can you? but i would have lots of time for meditation.
