Great Burmese Masters

Dear Forum

On E-Sangha, I once read Tiltbillings use the phrase "Great Burmese Masters".

Does this refer the the Communist government or to meditation teachers?

If this phrase refers to meditation teachers, which ones in particular?

Thank you

I guess Tilt should speak for himself, but
Ledi Sayadaw
Mahasi Sayadaw
are probably two most obvious from last century.

If you want some "live" ones, that might include the successors to Mahasi Sayadaw: U Pandita and Chanmyay Sayadaw. Another, with a rather different approach, is Pa Auk Sayadaw.

I can't speak for tilt but I personally think in a maditative point of view Ashin Nyanissara AKA Sitagu Sayadaw http://www.dhammadownload.com/UNyanissara-ENG-Video.htm
This offering maybe right, or wrong, but it is one, the other, both, or neither!
