Over the past couple of days I'm often getting the following message when posting:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]
MySQL server has gone away [2006]
An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
The problem seems to happen
after the message is actually posted, since it's there in the thread when I go back to look for it.

Me too, intermittently.

Greetings,
A thing to take note of...
When this error message comes up, it seems as if your post actually does go through.
That said, it is a bit annoying and we'll look into it.

I don't see it doing it now. But I know the web hosting company was doing some upgrades last week and there was some down time last week and apparently some of it may not be complete. If it persists, I will check with them.

I don't get this message.
I get:
"Is your post really skilful?
How necessary are your words?
Think twice before posting."
Boy, some servers can be so touchy.....!

I am sooooo happy - How on earth could I be otherwise?!

My computer expert / webmaster may have traced down the problem. It is something to do with the SMTP server and how it is indentified or directed or some other computerese type words I don't know. Hopefully it should all be fixed in the next few hours, later this evening US PDT.
