Much metta to JC, his family and friends.
I don't post here often, but I do read quite frequently, and have come to know JC as one of the DW regulars.
Metta,
Jason

An aspiration to the Triple Gem for James Brand aka 'JCSuperstar'
(Adapted from The Paritta Chanting)
Homage to the Blessed One, the Consummate One, the Supremely Enlightened One!
By the protective power of all the Buddhas, May healing and recovery ever be his.
By the protective power of all the Dhamma, May healing and recovery ever be his.
By the protective power of all the Sangha, May healing and recovery ever be his.
By the power of the Buddha, May the comatose be rendered naught.
By the power of the Dhamma, May the comatose be rendered naught.
By the power of the Sangha, May the comatose be rendered naught.
May he be free from suffering.
May he be free from fear.
May he be free from grief.
By the assertion of this aspiration, May he ever be well.
By the assertion of this aspiration, May he be free from illness.
By the assertion of this aspiration, May all blessings be upon him.
By the protective power of all Buddhas, Pacceka Buddhas and all Arahants,
May he be secured with this Protection in every way.
Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
Bhikkhus, if you develop and make much this one thing,
it invariably leads to weariness, cessation, appeasement, realization and extinction.
What is it? It is recollecting the Enlightened One.
If this single thing is recollected and made much,
it invariably leads to weariness, cessation, appeasement, realization and extinction.Anguttara-Nikaya: Ekanipata: Ekadhammapali: PañhamavaggaWBB TBHT HBM AC My Page

Thanks to everyone for all your support. I'm going to print this out and give it to his wife. I appreciate you all taking the time to say something.

JC is such a nice guy and I always enjoyed his thoughts here on DW. I sure hope that he recovers.
Metta JC, you're already missed.
Metta to his wife and family. I'm sorry for your circumstances

The thoughts I've expressed in the above post are carefully considered and offered in good faith.
And friendliness towards the world is happiness for him who is forbearing with living beings. -- Ud. 2:1
To his own ruin the fool gains knowledge, for it cleaves his head and destroys his innate goodness. -- Dhp 72

So sad to hear that, metta to him and his loved ones.

We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to
the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his
children smart.

May James and his loved ones find some comfort in the dhamma during this difficult time.

So very sad...
Much metta to him and his family.
Through many of samsara’s births I hasten seeking, finding not the builder of this house - pain is birth again, again.
O builder of this house you’re seen, you shall not build a house again, all your beams have given away, rafters of the ridge decayed, mind to the unconditioned gone, exhaustion of craving has it reached.

My heart aches for his wife. It's a great loss if it's true. I will be dedicating the merit of all of my practice to James. Sabbe sattaa sabba dukkha pamuccantu.

May you be well JC, wherever you are, in whatever state. My heart goes out to you, your wife and your family.
metta
Jack

P.S. A look at JC's father's facebook page seems to confirm that JC has passed on:

"But, Udāyi, let be the past, let be the future, I shall set you forth the Teaching: When there is this this is, with arising of this this arises; when there is not this this is not, with cessation of this this ceases." - Majjhima ii,32
