Pictures of revered teachers, places, rupas, temples, bhikkhus, shrine rooms etc. that bring inspiration to our members. Pilgrimage advice etc.

I just started a few weeks ago with such a room (I only moved to my current home recently), but I still have a lot to do. It currently has a meditation cushion (zafu, I believe it's called) and there is a statue the Buddha in it, but there is a lot of stuff in there that I would rather have somewhere else (boxes, tools, etc). More importantly the statue should be placed higher, because it now rests on some kind of stool. I would like to make it more shrine like than it currently is.
Any suggestions? What is the proper way to do this?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Ytrog,
I can't type with left hand so must be brief: Buddha image supposed to be placed at hip-level or higher, I once read (or was it 'must be above hip-level'?)

I know that the Buddha image has to be high, but is there anything else that's required or not-done?
Btw, I'm typing from a phone

Thanks for the pics. I think, I have some idea about what to do.
Btw, those are elaborate

Relax ... there's no need to do more than you're absolutely comfortable with.
Actually, there's no need to do anything at all - your state of mind is what matters. If a shrine helps your focus, that's great, go ahead and set one up; if it doesn't, that's equally great, since it means you can meditate anywhere.
