Emoticon!

Post by Reductor »

Hey, you know what this joint needs? More emoticons! There are just not enough to capture the many moods of the Reductor. I cannot think of an example just now, but the thought has occurred to me on occasion.

This forum has some good ones that I haven't seen elsewhere.

I wish there was an emoticon for saying something went "over my head". I've never seen one like that anywhere.

Also, on another forum I go to, they have a "head-smack" emoticon for those "d'oh!" occasions.

I'd like Kling-on and Spock emotocons!

What about an asura-emotocon too?

OO and a naga - this forum definately needs a naga emotocon ...

Happy Friday from Mt. Meru,

V.

Why would it need a naga emoticon? :?

One might want to express protectiveness:

Ah, I didn't know this.

I only know naga (in the context of the Dhamma) from a passage in the Vinaya that says that naga's can't ordain.

Nagas are particularly revered along the Mekong river on the Thailand-Laos border...

My local Wat is a branch of Wat Nak Prok, Bangkok:

The Buddha-Rupa I have at home is based on that Naga story and looks something like this (but less ornate...):

Greetings,

You can come up with your own emoticon lists without us added (even) more to Dhamma Wheel itself.

For example, here's one from a site I frequent...

Image

It's simply an image.

Code: Select all

If you keep a handy collection of them in a TXT file or somewhere easily accessible, you can wheel out your own as/when required.

As for adding more, they already distract me sometimes when I'm trying to type a response and they're all jumping around and such at the edge of the screen.... and I'm actually in favour of emoticons... there are some members who are genuinely anti-emoticon. Distractions aside, they do take up an inordinate amount of room, particular if your screen has small resolution on the horizontal axis, because they wrap down.

Metta,
Retro. :)

Potty mouthed, but funny:
