Way to go Retro. Your framing my teenage years with Eurasure and Joy Division/ New Order. So now I'm thinking that the following will be coming up: Pet Shop Boys, U2 (going to see them next May), Bob Marley and the Wailers should be there as well. I think I'm close on some of them.... or maybe not.
But if this neutral feeling that has arisen is conditioned by the body which is impermanent, compounded and dependently arisen, how could such a neutral feeling be permanent? - SN 36.7

How many virtual eternities are there in a real eternity?

Keep 'em coming, Retro - I've been waiting, like, kalpas to see what will turn up in your top few.

Greetings,

Well, there have been rather obscure entries in the Retro Rockers Top 100 so I guess it was no surprise to see another come in at #3. Spray are magnificent though - it astounds me that they're not better known than they are.

Anyway, as for the countdown.... what I will tell you is that both remaining entries have had number 1 albums in the UK chart.

I wonder if that helps narrow it down at all...

Donovan is a good choice, but I am now wondering if you have a thing for Sue Lyon.

Here is one of Donovan's bests:

>> Do you see a man wise [enlightened/ariya] in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.<< -- Proverbs 26:12

This being is bound to samsara, kamma is his means for going beyond. -- SN I, 38.

Great selection Tilt... a great example of Donovan's musical wizardry.

And why he's obviously far more talented than Bob Dylan.

Maybe more lyrical than Dylan, but far more talented than Dylan?

I think you edited my words rather shamefully here. Very naughty.

Just that! *smile*
...We Buddhists must find the courage to leave our temples and enter the temples of human experience, temples that are filled with suffering. If we listen to Buddha, Christ, or Gandhi, we can do nothing else. The refugee camps, the prisons, the ghettos, and the battlefields will become our temples. We have so much work to do. ...
