Even though the pandemic is nearly over I have this big anxiety that's hindered my progress in meditation. My chest feels so heavy. Is there a practice that targets that specifically? Thank you. I've struggled with an anxiety disorder most of my life now. It most readily appears in my chest area as...

I have always liked Chan and of all the Mahayana schools I believe the Chan tradition is the closest to what the Buddha taught in the Pali Canon. That and Soto Zen of which I used to practice. If I wasn't a Theravadan I would definitely be a Chan Buddhist.

I use whatever comes up in the course of the day to reflect on death.. whether it is news reports of accidental deaths, murders, suicides or roadkill when walking down the street, even leaves falling from the trees..there is always an opportunity to bring home the truth of our inevitable destination...
