If the tendency is to cling to consciousness as something permanent, as a self, it is difficult to see that in breath happens in the present moment, during a sequence of present moments followed by a sequence of present moments during which there is out breath. Each successive moment is perceived by...

After the fall of polpot, arisen largely as a result of US carpet bombing of Cambodia, neighbouring Vietnam was asked to send in Theravadan teachers to restart the sangha. Today, while fiercely independent minded, the lay community and monks are going strong with various centers around the world. Ot...

Re: Plagarism or copy pasting is stealing?

While all that is to consider, with The Dhamma an overriding consideration can be that there can be no price on something so universally precious and helping making it available even to the poorest of the poor is meritorious while doing otherwise for personal gain is not.

'activating anicca' : If you have the experience it seems pretty clear. If you don't, it seems like an odd thing to say. Dhammapada 259 shows how true knowledge, wisdom, panna, comes not from remembering a lot of suttas but from understanding the true meaning of The Dhamma. __________ The reference to 84,000 is interesting. It may do three things. The person reciting the stanzas did so after The Buddha had died and af...

"Bhikkhus, dependent on the mind and mind-objects, mind-consciousness arises; the meeting of the three is mind-contact; with mind-contact as condition there arises [a mind-feeling] felt as pleasant or painful or neither-pleasant-not-painful.
