Re: Do one work with different chakras under different periods?riods

If restlessness prevails and you feel to urge to "work" due to mental fabrications causing mental intentionality it is best to do physical yoga and avoid anything that is based on views and/or system of thoughts. Acceptance of the existence of "chakras" certainly depends on affirming views and the c...

Re: The Problem With Hell

Pondera wrote: Sat May 08, 2021 12:46 am At what point do we discard the warnings of Hell and welcome the prospects of Heaven?
Not knowing "we" is not knowing "hell" and not knowing "heaven" since both, "hell" and "heaven" seem to be the fabrications of "we".

Or, is there any actual "Here" at all?

"Here" is where directed thought "here" arrives.

For me that seems to be an outlandish hypothesis. Is it based on social research or do you experience women being "superior and having more fun"?

Re: what are your thoughts on taking psychotropic medications for mood disorders?

The problem lies in the intentionality of taking drugs which is based on the illusion of real mental states. Principally all illusory mentality is based on the flux of chemical materiality, so there is no difference between the effect of chemical drugs and the effect of natural chemicals in the brai...

I am quite sure that the misogynist attitude does not belong to the category "the fittest" which is why it is already only a minority attitude in civilized regions of the world.

Re: Breakoff from "Gurus in Vajrayana"

The misunderstanding is that secrecy in the context of teachings is about keeping something secret intentionally. However if there is a real teacher involved - and "real teacher" here refers to someone who knows what others don't know and does not refer to someone who is called "teacher" by traditio...

Re: On Your Way Home - A Road to Nirvana for the West

Now I am truly free. It is the special configuration of an aggregate of inanimate matter that produces the illusion of 'being', 'life', 'mentality', 'I am'. Thus '[truly] free', '[truly] unfree' don't exist but are the fabrication of illusory conditioned mentality [that apprehends itself]. Inanimat...

Re: can i achieve nirvana when i don't believe in Reincarnation

Is it possible? Thanks. Obviously not since the definition of nirvana includes the end of rebirths ("rebirth" not "reincarnation"). However there are some philosophies that don't preach rebirths and aim at a kind of liberation nevertheless like Pyrrhonism and Epicureanism or Stoicism ... you might ...

Re: Superstitious or real?

I would be suspicious of anyone and anyone's teaching who teaches what is not substantiated by science. science is secular religion :| No, science cannot be equated with religion. Why? Because science can modify materiality and bring about new materiality while the sphere of religion is merely illu...

Re: Buddhist Schools

Here in the U.K. faith schools can be quite a divisive issue. Some agree with them and like them, others do not. Most of the faith schools here are Christian or Islamic, with a few Jewish schools also. There is also one Hindu school and one Buddhist primary school here (ages 5 - 11). I'm interested...

What makes teachings legit? What measures are appropriate to conclude "legit" or "non-legit"? What drives people to teach [whatever they teach] at all?
I would be suspicious of anyone and anyone's teaching who teaches what is not substantiated by science.
