Re: Question having children

"Monks, there are these six rewards in realizing the fruit of stream-entry. Which six? One is certain of the true Dhamma. One is not subject to falling back. There is no suffering over what has had a limit placed on it . One is endowed with uncommon knowledge. One rightly sees cause, along wit...

a perspective of greed why greed out of all emotions? There are the defilments greed, hatred and delusion. "Defilement" shouldn't be confused with "emotion" which isn't a doctrinal concept. thanks, it did not occur to me you were mentioning the three poisons. I was thinking gree...

Re: Regular Caffeine Consumption Affects Brain Structure

Personally, I hardly ever consume coffee or tea. Science is fascinating, however it often contradicts itself. Moreover, it is likely that, despite all efforts to prevent it, studies won't be replicable. A wonderful excuse to observe sensations and do as we think is appropriate if you ask me :D

Re: abstain from xx makes our skin or face lustful to others?

I doubt the correlation you mentioned is present, however I do believe abstinence (or even moderate acts of pleasure) boosts one's vitality and energy thus increasing attractiveness. This effect is amplified by mandatory masks wearing and the worldwide climate of fear.

Re: Family life vs homeless life/being single for life.

Hi, this thread has been nice to read. I start by quoting and then add my own thoughts... #1 piece of advice. STOP MASTURBATING TO INTERNET PORN. Your testosterone levels are the number 1 determining factor that will decide if you get laid or not. This is a must: internet porn sends your primal brai...

Re: What do you consider wasted time? Why?

I consider wasted time if I am not in Yoniso Manasikara or on Satipathana. :meditate: I'm sorry these are very technical terms that I'm failing to understand! The only wasted time is wasted time that isn't realized as wasted time. Why? Because even wasted time realized as wasted time isn't wasted d...

What do you consider wasted time? Why?

Hi, been thinking about "wasted time" as in the past i had bad habits and a thirst for superficial pleasures. Sometimes I considered them as "wasted time", however with hindsight and a positive outlook, they might have been what pushed me to the Dhamma and meditation. Likewise, I...

Re: Does pornography leads to rebirth in a lower realm?

In my opinion porn fits very well in a world full of nothing: it's pleasureful, it carries no consequences, it is free, convenient and easily available. My experience with it, is that it dissipates our sexual energies into instant gratification. I was addicted to it when i was a teenager and it took...

ahhh sexuality and its driving force, blissful and brutal at the same time! I read through the discussion: different perspectives were raised, some in my opinion were unnecessarily negative or dictated by flowing lust. I understand them though, the topic justifies them and sometimes in my overthinki...
