Re: Nibbāna is True Self

... Imho, All beings are interconnected. Nibbāna is the All Pervading Reality. Please give corrections again if these still wrong. You seem to be still conceiving beings. If we get to know things directly we would not or should not conceive a self. We will see things just as they are or I believe s...

Re: Truth and Reality

I decided to change the word self because it's kind of itchy. Those who see Dhamma sees Buddha. Buddha is not the body of Gotama ascetic. Buddha is Buddhahood Mind. Buddha already Parinibbana. Dhamma = Buddha = Nibbāna = True Existence. There is no self in 5 aggregates or namarupa. There is no indiv...

Re: Nibbāna is True Self

... “He perceives Nibbāna as Nibbāna. Having perceived Nibbāna as Nibbāna, he conceives himself as Nibbāna, he conceives himself in Nibbāna, he conceives himself apart from Nibbāna, he conceives Nibbāna to be ‘mine,’ he delights in Nibbāna. Why is that? Because he has not fully understood it, I say...

Re: Poll: According to Buddha's teachings, is it right to say: "Nibbāna is true self." ?

There is no self in 5 aggregates or namarupa.

All beings are interconnected. There is no individual self.

The Buddha taught people to seek Nibbāna, to experience Nibbāna.

What's wrong with that?

Re: Nibbāna is True Self

Define "self" brahmanism believe that a material called atta move from a dying body to new body. The Buddha proved that there is not atta in 5 aggregates or namarupa. The Buddha taught that the True Reality is Nibbāna. So, definition of Self = no individual self, there is Nibbāna which ex...

Re: Nibbāna is True Self

... Nibbāna is true self. ... Please give corrections if these were wrongview ... I would say it is wrong to declare "Nibbana is the true self"; a lot more wrong than those who insist like "Nibbana is the true Soul". One easy reason is: Self is related to "I". Nibbana ...

Re: Theravada and metta - karuna lacking issue

So did Buddha approved of Angulimala's killing? Should Buddha shun the serial killer? How do you know if the Sayadaw being close to the general is key to turn his heart in the future towards stepping down in peace and allowing the country to go back to democracy? In Buddhism, we can go beyond the m...

Re: So there can be two truths?

Imho, When the Upatissa (then Sariputta) hears the Buddha teaching recited by monk Assaji, the Upatissa mind saw truth : Nibbāna It is called truth because Nibbāna is true, just like Dhamma, Nibbāna can be discerned as: Svakkhato, sanditthiko, akaliko, ehipassiko, opanayiko, paccatam veditabbo vinnu...

Re: Theravada and metta - karuna lacking issue

Any monk who support killing (and as a result killing happened) already broke the parajika rule, thus no longer a monk. Do make sure of the reality of the situation on the ground. I didn't read your link. Surely the Sitagu sayadaw was not the only person in the monastery. If the Sayadaw was not agr...
