Re: ‘Buddhist’ Teachers to Watch Out For
Btw., reading this "trauma epic", Bhante might be possible not aware that the Buddha even forbade his monks to teach if not showing signs of respect, how can a disciple of the Buddha tell laypeople that strong devotion is wrong? Nothing more for the damage of spirituality as to foster wron...

Re: ‘Buddhist’ Teachers to Watch Out For
You can take this as me cautioning the Buddhist community. Having been active in the Buddhist circle for 30 years, I’ve met some ‘Buddhist’ teachers who knowingly lead their followers into more suffering, while having them believe the opposite. Re: What is pursuing possessions with possessions?
Yes, good householder, and it's not wise to think that certain monks do not know what they talk about. ...using the wealth earned through his efforts & enterprise, amassed through the strength of his arm, and piled up through the sweat of his brow, righteous wealth righteously gained ... My pers...

Re: What is pursuing possessions with possessions?
You borrow money from a bank to buy a property and sell off when there is profit. How can one be sure to ever be able to pay back? Why does one wants a property, knowing breaking apart of everything? The bank interest will hopefully be less than the capital gain. The next buyer does the same thing ...

Re: Lord & Servant
When people delight what gone through Jesus-ed filter and those heros of wrong view, how does yours except to ever delight in the Dhamma of the Noble Ones, relaying on merely "facebook-quotes" picked out for unification? Drunken in youth, health and life, afte "sex", the fools re...

Re: Taking honey from a bee hive
If we admit that bees are not in the habit of giving away the honey that they have, with great effort, produced then it must be obvious that in taking their time honey for our own benefit we are in fact taking what has not been given to us. Therefore, yes, a breach of the second precept. How then d...

Re: Breaking refuge vows
First off, there are no vows in going for refuge. You're driving yourself nuts by speculating about kamma. How about just understanding killing is wrong? Why complicate this so much and ask so many marginally different variations of the same question? Sorry if you think I'm a nuisance. You don't ha...

Re: Taking honey from a bee hive
Good so, good householder, - Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammā-sambuddhassa - As the bee collects nectar and flies away without damaging the flower or its colour or its scent, so also, let the bhikkhu dwell and act in the village (without affecting the faith and generosity or the wealth of the vil...

Re: Legal suit
Can You attain nibbana while having done that? No. Not even Jhana, not to speak of paths and fruits, good householder. Why not, good Perpetual Curate? Because it requires wrong view, requires deliberate action which cause harm to others, requires ingratitude, requires stinginess, is opposit to righ...

Re: Taking honey from a bee hive
... My question is regarding 2nd precept. Does taking some honey from a bee hive count as breaking 2nd precept? .. I think a monk would not take honey from a beehive. They go for alms round and eat only what is given to them once a day. Good so, good householder, - Namo tassa bhagavato arahato samm...

Re: Taking honey from a bee hive
My question is regarding 2nd precept. Does taking some honey from a bee hive count as breaking 2nd precept? In the Vinaya taking something from an animal isn't a breach of the stealing precept for monks and nuns, so it seems unlikely that it would be for the laity. There is no offense [of theft]: i...
