Re: Who is Mara?
Wow Mara is satan. That's why the number 6, alright. Because he's a 6th heaven being. He's a sub angel because sometimes people will mistake him as an angel. But he's not a real angel. He's not as powerful as a real angel. God is basically an archangel on steroids.

Re: How can I eliminate clinging?
Sotapanna is the easiest level of liberation. I'm not sure how to reach it, but you can easily work your way up as soon as you've reach sotapanna. You probably won't even get a low human birth. At least middle class family.

Re: Question about intention
He died from food poisoning. The Buddha assured him that he had done good kamma by giving him his last meal. I mean there's a chance the Buddha just wants to console him so he won't feel bad. Because the Buddha with his perception of ugliness and sickness, that is his human body if full of disgusti...

Re: I have to questions relating to sakadagamiship.
What? Did you even understand my point? Trying to. Are you saying any small attainment Mara is right there saying it's the end goal or to stop through things like fear and conceit? Flattery doesn't kill jhana, it prevents you from achieving it through delusion. Mara creates an illusion that you hav...

Does flattery kill sotapanna if pride in their heart becomes too great from praise?

I get more and more confused with these questions. How do people even logic? You saying someone in this forum knows the true answer? It seems some people here are insane, with no logic.

Because once returner is jhana. It's not pure abode but it's jhana. And to attain jhana you need fortitude and consistency.

Re: I have to questions relating to sakadagamiship.
Greetings, That sounds like utter nonsense. If you look at the Suttas, each advancing jhana is accompanied by the cessation first of coarse factors, and then of more subtle factors... not the introduction of "complex mental factors" and "heavy infrastructure". Metta, Paul. :) We...

Jhana is a very complex mental process, you will need heavy infrastructure to understand jhana. Which is not attainable for a foolretrofuturist wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 5:57 am Greetings,
What does that mean, and what is the basis of your comment?
