Re: Risk of taking vaccine jab

In my opinion, the Chinese vaccine is the safest and produces higher results.
It was made using the old technology without altering the DNA of the virus.
It is natural. It is not man-made in a laboratory.

Re: What is the eye?

visuddhimagga PATH OF PURIFICATION Part 3: Understanding (Paññá) Xiv 47. 1. There is what is called the “eye” in the world. That looks like a blue lotus petal and is surrounded by black eyelashes and varied with dark and light circles. The eye [sensitivity as meant] here is to be found in the place...

Re: Can a monk tell his followers that he is not fully enlightened?

it does no good comparing yourself to others. Thank you, Bhante. I am just airing a typical thought pattern of a newcomer to Buddhism or even a Buddhist who trying to follow the path. We both are in this forum for almost ten years. I have written 16000 posts but you have done only 300 posts! But we...

Re: Can a monk tell his followers that he is not fully enlightened?

...Even though what he was saying was factual he was adjudged pārājika because his intention was to deceive. ... Thanks a lot, Venerable. I think how the intention works is very exquisite. This reminds me of some writing by a venerable in Burmese something like: ... it is a heavy kamma if one kills...

Re: How can we help (our) kids from buddhism?

I think Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma is growing strong in Sri Lanka.
Yes it does.
This is due to the lack of knowledge about Buddhism.
Another thing is Hinduism offers many rituals for worldly matters.
Generally, people like the supernatural aspect as well.

Re: What is the eye?

Better apply common sense when trying to interpret sutta materials. Common sense will be more important than pali mastery alone. Ok. What I am trying to prove here is that Sutta alone we cant explain OP question. We need to know the Abhidhamma as it gives a logical answer, whether it is right or wr...

Re: How can we help (our) kids from buddhism?

Maybe just let them choose by themselves? I think the western world really hate religion indoctrination. This is not a good strategy. We have to expose them to all religious beliefs and let them chose what they want. 85% of the world population have some belief in religion. As a social animals, we ...

Re: Vibhanga: How is kayanupassana practised in 1st jhana ???

Hi DD You have to be familiar with the Javana process (17 thought moments) of Jhana, before you understand this. Hi SarathW You have to be able to explain the Javana process (17 thought moments) of Jhana, before you post about this. :thanks: This is a complex topic and it is clearly explained in Ab...

Re: What is the eye?

What is the eye? Dependent on eye & forms, eye-consciousness arises [similarly with the rest of the six senses]. The meeting of the three is contact. With contact as a requisite condition, there is feeling. https://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/mn/mn.018.than.html I think it is straight forward ...
