You eliminate Kama-raga only when you become an Anagami.
Even a Sotapanna will marry and have children etc.
Visaka was a sotapanna at the age of seven and got married later and had about a dozen children.
Many have this misunderstanding what you have.

Re: Satipatthana fully developed before n8fp development start
The way I understand, Noble Eightfold Path is developed in conjunction simultaneously. It is gradual training hence from the Saddhanusari to Arahants practice NEFP in different levels. i figure not everyone are reading backwards too from the end. In this case read what kind of person's have right v...

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
I like your explanation of the flash of consciousness. But why does this flash happen only at death? Hmmm…. Did I say happens only at death? No, I didn’t say that. Flashes (moments, instances) of consciousness arising and falling is a constantly ongoing experience. If flash happens in every conscio...

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
Consciousness as a nutriment So it appears that the rebirth consciousness act as a support for another nama-ruupa. But there is still more meaning than that to be derived from the description of consciousness as a nutriment if we consider that it is explained primarily as rebirth consciousness. This...

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
Greetings, How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue? A puggala? :D Metta, Paul. :) I think Theravada Buddhism is talking about "Bhava" In Abhidhamma Bhava, consciousness continues. It does not vanish without a residue. In fact, it creates a new Bhava consciousnes...

reincarnation of a soul. Passing away from that state, I re-arose there. There too I had such a name, belonged to such a clan, had such an appearance. Such was my food, such my experience of pleasure and pain, such the end of my life. Passing away from that state, I re-arose here.' Thus he remember...

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
As I said it is easy to understand what is happening to my body. Really? Cool! Could you tell me how consciousness continues in a body that’s constantly breaking apart? Have you done science or just read about physical science? Our cells are interconnected even though old cell dies. New cells gener...

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
In other words how my present rebirth consciousness arises in my mother's womb when I die in my last life. Your present consciousness doesn’t take rebirth. That would be no different than the reincarnation of a soul. Your “present consciousness” comes and goes in a flash. It creates the conditions ...

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
What is hard to understand is how when I die my consciousness arises somewhere else if it has already vanished without a residue. In other words how my present rebirth consciousness arises in my mother's womb when I die in my last life. Why would you assume that consciousness has “vanished without ...

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
This is my problem. Say I am a Namarupa. When objects touch this name and form the consciousness arises (eye, ear, mind, etc.) It is easy to understand. What is hard to understand is how when I die my consciousness arises somewhere else if it has already vanished without a residue. In other words ho...

Re: Upon seeing a parent oppress a sibling, what do you do?
Unfortunately, this is a universal problem.
As a child, I had to go through this too.
However, I did minimally (it is called in law administering) to my children as I know how bad it is.
The only way to avoid this is to educate parents.
But it is not an easy thing and the government has to do this.

Re: How can you explain rebirth if everything vanishes without residue?
Please explain your question Whatever phenomena arise from cause: their cause & their cessation. Such is the teaching of the Tathagata, the Great Contemplative. https://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/vin/mv/mv.01.23.01-10.than.html Phenomena isn’t what takes ‘rebirth’. Awareness (consciousnes...
