Re: Stone chambers dating back 1400 years, filled with stone slabs inscribed with Buddhist scriptures

Why are these stone slabs in there?
I think it is the same desire to protect the Dhamma such as the Dhamma Wheel and Sutta Central.
For instance, I joined Dhamma Wheel to protect Dhamma and realise that I know nothing,

Re: Do people enjoy suffering. (Dukkha)

Remember the leper simile in MN 75 ? We're all "lepers" to some extent until attaining the Four Fruits, if you think about it... :goodpost: Agree. :D No, they don't enjoy dukkha. In fact, their attempt at escaping dukkha leads to them "enjoy" sense pleasures. Imagine if you don'...

Re: The Experience of Impermanence

In Buddhism, we are talking about subtle impermanence than the objects of the world. Buddhism's main focus point is the impermanence of the mind. You can experience this with all six senses. Observe how your thoughts move from one object to another object. Observe your eye move from one object to an...

Re: My experience with meditation, insights, what's next?

It's common to go through periods where one feels like not much is happening, it's important to be consistent and constant during these times rather than trying to make something happen. If you want to ask questions about Tibetan practices you could do that on https://www.dharmawheel.net/ :goodpost:

Re: My experience with meditation, insights, what's next?

So all in all I did choose the path of the bodhisattva Why do you choose a difficult path when you can do it so easily in this life itself? Budhha was born many times as animals etc. so why do you choose Samsara instead of Nibbana in this very life? At least try to be Sotapanna which assures that y...

Re: Hearing without ear-consciousness, jhana, verbalization.

Say two people talk to you at the same time. You can hear both but ear consciousness arises only one voice at a time. If you can't hear both it is called noise. We have two eyes (for stereoscopic vision) rather than one "eye". Also for hearing, we have two ears. Thus how can there be hear...

Re: Why did the same Dhamma given by Devadatt not enable 500 monks to become Sotapanna?

Venerable Seelawimal tells the same story again in the following Dhamma sermon.
The prerequisite for Sotapanna is the unwavering faith in Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha.
Perhaps Devadattha had no faith in Buddha or the Sangha.
