Re: Is dhammawiki.com article on 'Last thought moment' correct?

I think the very fact that the Buddha did make a point of visiting the dying, or sending an arahant disciple to visit them, or, at the very least, sending them some instruction via messenger, suggests that he did regard the time of death as an especially crucial time. Please let me know if you can ...

Re: What Ven.Ajahn Chah meant by "The Timeless Buddha"

I found the most interesting explanation for all this "There is no self" nonsense. “There is no self.” “Nope, never said that, either.”—The Buddha By Thanissaro Bhikkhu “There is no self” is the granddaddy of fake Buddhist quotes. It has survived so long because of its superficial resemblance to the...

Re: Is a Pali Canon (Tipitaka) sutta Summary available

Sutta Central https://suttacentral.net/pitaka/sutta has summaries for most of the early suttas, i.e. DN, MN, SN, AN, and the older KN. Very short ones, such as the ones and twos in the AN, the Dhammapada verses, etc, do not have summaries, since those summaries would be almost as long as the suttas...

Re: Is dhammawiki.com article on 'Last thought moment' correct?

In Samyutta Nikaya 55.21 Mahanama said to the Buddha " Sometimes, when I enter Kapilavatthu in the evening after visiting with the Blessed One or with the monks who inspire the mind, I meet up with a runaway elephant, a runaway horse, a runaway chariot, a runaway cart, or a runaway person. At times...

Re: What Ven.Ajahn Chah meant by "The Timeless Buddha"

The Pali suttas say a Buddha is free from "birth" ("jati") & "death' ("marana") and a Buddha is not "a being" ("satta"; SN 22.85). SN 22.85 Yamaka Sutta "What do you think, my friend Yamaka: Is form constant or inconstant?" "Inconstant, my friend." "And is that which is inconstant easeful or stress...
