Is it good karma to be born as a westerner?
Hello everyone, First of all. This is not nationalistic or racist post, but I'm actually curious. Ok so generally speaking Most of the western countries are better developed and have better standard of living, but most are not Buddhists. Most of the buddhist countries are poor. My question is, is it...

Thanks for all the replies. I was worried that even after reaching nibbana you will be reborn after big bang. Glad it is not like that

Will people who attained nibbana be reborn after big bang?
Hello everyone, Just a random question that popped into my head. Will people who attained nibbana will be reborn after universe ends and restarts? I'm surer they will never be reborn while the current universe exist (which is a very very long time), but what happens when universe ends and restarts w...

Re: Ok buddhism is true but my reaction is depression
There's a sutta exactly for this but i can not find it. A disciple asks why he isn't calm even he realized the desires are dangerous. The answer is that until he tastes the happiness of giving up, his mind will not calm. OTOH, the depression is rooted in desire, your desire makes you feel depressed...

Are gods bored and can they meditate?
Hey, I have a question about god realms, in buddhism that can be reached when you do good karma. 1. The god realms are full of hapiness, but my question is will gods eventually get bored of this continuous happiness even before there good karma finishes. Does this mean without letting go, too much h...

Re: Ok buddhism is true but my reaction is depression
Hey thanks for all the replies. I think before i reply to any i have to clarify the first noble truth 1. Life is suffering Does this mean there is absolutely no possible way to have a world without suffering. What if I was reborn into realms of devas, wouldn't their world be without suffering. Why w...

How to be happy about other people's achievements, when you don't have it?
Hey everyone, First of all I'm not the jealous type at all, quite the opposite I'm very happy about other people's success but I have noticed it is easier to be happy about other people's success when you also have it. For example lets say someone brought a new car, it is easier to be happy about th...

How to forgive people when you are correct?
Hello everyone, Hope everyone is safe in this tough time. I have a question about forgiveness, no big issues in my life but just asking to improve my day to day life. 1. I sometimes find it difficult to forgive people when we come to some conflict like verbal arguement and i'm correct. I have no pro...

Re: No soul, consciousness confused?
Thank you everyone for their replies :console: I found all of them helpful but I'm getting more questions as I try to understand this. Now my new question is, 1. Can there be rebirth but no karma? I mean when we die, obviously energy is released (atleast if nothing else from our decaying body), now ...

No soul, consciousness confused?
Hello everyone, I'm really sorry these are basic questions but i did a search on this forum about these all but still confused. So if there is no soul in buddhism what goes to the next life? If it is consciousness that goes to the next life, how can you say body doesn't make consciousness, so when b...
