Re: My Vipassana Experience & Questions
2. How do I tell the difference between real sensations and imagined ones? Re: Disenchantment
It does worry me somewhat if I am honest, I have lost a lot of my old intrests, which is definitely a good thing, but I am still in a relationship – trying to balance between being a good Buddhist and still trying to help my to-be wife live the life she loves, which includes me taking part in thing...

Re: SN Goenka Meditation Instructions
I understand the reason for moving the awareness systematically to parts of the body.. Is there a recommended order and list of parts? or anything and any order will do? I am unable to find the details about this instruction yet. It is taught top of the head to tips of the toes and back the other w...

Hi Upasaka Sumana,
How are you getting on with the Samatha Trust. I've been attending meetings of a group for the past month and have found them beneficial. The teacher contact from reporting has been especially useful.

Re: What is wisdom?
Paññā: 'understanding, knowledge, understanding, insight', comprises a very wide field. The specific Buddhist knowledge or understanding, however, as part of the Noble 8-fold path magga to deliverance, is insight vipassanā Would one not then expect samma vipassana to be part of the eight fold path?

Re: Controlling the breath?
I'm about to start going to the Samtha Trust classes in London next week. Interesting they teach a method with counting but I can just about see how after the next few stages it fits in with the first stage of the Anapanasati Sutta. Funny they use counting to know that the breath is long or short. I...

Re: The Dhamma Wheel Meditation Challenge
I would be happy to join you. I have a Goenka retreat coming up on the 5th of next month and would love to have increased my sitting so I'm a bit more comfortable for it than previous times!
