Just a quick update. I've come down with a serious fever and am in hospital for a few days.
Litterally from ordination to serious illness and than in hospital.

Abbot has connections at Thai consulate or whatever it's called. For visa.

Very excited about it. I'm 25 and from America. Living in a small monastery where not many monks speak any English!

As far as goals. Purify my mind, help others, live simply and be happy. Thank you for linking information. Responding to Paul I personally have met and spent time with both Mahayana monks and theravada monks. I think monastic life at it's core shares deep similarities regardless of the tradition. I ...
