Re: I'm not satisfied with my meditation.

I have been meditating for many years although my efforts have not been consistent. I have schizophrenia and am on anti psychotics for that. Would this effect my ability to access samadhi potentially? When I am doing well I enjoy a daily practice and I do find the contemplation of metta for myself ...

Re: The relation about Dhamma and reality itself

1. Suffering and unsatisfactoryness are objective. Any pleasant sensations and stays are impermanent - this is a fact. Any happiness is transient. Any birth will inevitably lead to death, and birth in the human world will inevitably be associated with illness, loss, old age and frailty. That is the ...

Re: Doubts about buddhist cosmology, sumeru, flat earth

Many of the things you have listed are representations of people from Canon comments written by different people at different times. In the suttas it is not said that Sumeru mountain is an ordinary mountain made of stone, and even more so the Buddha did not say that the Earth is flat. It is also wor...

Re: Is it possible to lose the good life i have?

The attainment of the fruit of sotapanna guarantees not falling into the suffering worlds below the human, and also reach Nibbana in a maximum of seven lives.

There are quite a few photos (a few hundred), and they are provided with short comments: description + something like travel notes.

Photos of Buddhist monasteries and temples of Sri Lanka

Photos with comments from monasteries, temples and holy places, taken by me in 2012-2013 in Sri Lanka. There is a lot of material, and mostly not from tourist places http://saddhamma.mybb.ru/viewtopic.php?id=24

Comments in Russian, but the built-in Google-translator translates them well.

Re: Is it possible to lose the good life i have?

Is it possible to lose the good life i have? To fall in very deep suffering fields of life? Of course! Impermanence is the main subject of reflection in Buddhism. Nothing can be kept; all appropriation (upadana) attempts lead to suffering in the future. https://suttacentral.net/sn22.12/en/bodhi htt...

Re: Right livelihood or harmlessness

For example, the ascetic way of life of hermits and monks is not necessarily beneficial to health. The right means of livelihood are the means that would not contribute to the violation of the 5 rules for the laity and the rules of Patimokkha for bhikkhu. No more, no less.

Re: Form is emptiness

Does the phrase 'form is emptiness' have any place in Theravada? I believe it's from the heart sutra which is a Mahayana suttra. Is emptiness different in different schools? Which one focuses more on emptiness? The emptiness in the sutas of the Pali Canon is an emptiness from oneself / one’s own, t...
