Re: Mentioning Buddhism in public

There isnt anything wrong with mentioning you are buddhist in public but it doesnt go without its consequences.... As a Briton, i can completely, categorically tell you that any time anyone here has found out I'm Buddhist, it has always engendered interest, positive discussion and an amiable curiou...

Re: What and how much?

What do we need to know and how much do we need to know in order to practice the Dhamma? Of course, one can list the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, which are obvious, but to what level of detail do we need to know these things? To the extent that DOING them becomes second nature..... And...

Re: Hi Dhamma Wheel - Intro and Questions

Hi Dhamma Wheel, Hi!! Another topic that I haven't yet seen discussed in a practical way is sexual desire. Even with attempts to be mindful and the best of intentions I still find myself giving in to the craving for sex, even when I know that there are more productive things I could be doing with m...

While it is true that the Arabic world was extremely advanced in these matters - and indeed we have much to be grate...

Thank you Ben, succinct and to the point.
I take your reasoning on the 'small potatoes' site.... but you do the humble spud a great injustice! :jumping:

I'm glad though, we will still be able to take refuge here, from the daily grind of the wwweb..... good to know the doors are open.

Thanks!

Re: The "Give Box"

i'd most disappointed and saddened to say that I seriously doubt such a gift box would work according to plan in the UK unless it was situated in an intimate and relatively isolated village...or was in a public place that could more or less be supervised.... I know we have the highest number of cctv...
