Re: How to deal with fleas ?
"Sentinel" once a month tablets claim to not kill any fleas, but to make the ones that bite the bite sterile.
I plan to try this.

Re: Please evaluate my practice
I felt that after meditating for a year and a half my mind should be more settled. Maybe it is. Maybe if I went back a year and half and compared it to now it's better. I'm sure it is. However, should I be able to get into somewhat deep concentration by now? The fact that I can't, is that a sign I'...

Re: Pursuing an American Buddhism.
Wow. Very interesting article, thank you, Ben :) ....in American Buddhism, people often overemphasize the role of meditation above all else in Buddhism, even above being part of a Buddhist community. So American Buddhism might include people who self-identify as Buddhist but don’t really connect wit...

Re: some direction on next book plz
Thank you everyone, I will check out each of these suggestions. Thank you, Bhikkhu Pesala, I agree about the meditation practice and study, and I like this reference: In This Very Life by Sayādaw U Pandita. I will continue reading this online resource, but I guess I really need to find a teacher: Th...

some direction on next book plz
This is a different request than just a "suggested books" request. The request is more about "which" suggested book, next. (Haha, too many great-looking, highly suggested books out there). Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts welcome, thank you! I have been practicing the five precepts earnestly since J...

Re: Comparative Reading
Does anyone know of an English interpretation of the Bahudhatuka Sutta (Majjhima Nikaya 115), in addition to the one by Bhikkhu Nanamoli and Bhikkhu Bodhi? Also, is anyone aware of any commentaries or discussions of this sutta in addition to Bhikkhu Bodhi's notes in The Middle Length Discourses of ...

Re: contemplation and meditation
(follow-up) Interesting. I didn't realize I posted this exactly a year ago--my how time flies (especially when one is a slow reader, haha)! The essence of what I was looking for has found me. While voyaging along each of the suttas of the Majjhima Nikaya, I finally landed on the Anapanasati Sutta, r...

insight meditation subjects?
I hope everyone is very happy and doing well! May I ask, is there a list of insight meditation "subjects" for seated meditation, similar to how there are 40 subjects for deep concentration? Also, my way of "contemplating" and "investigating" things happens while I am reflecting the Dhamma during the...
