Re: Do arhants thought generate painful feeling ?

Also: Now, it’s possible, Ānanda, that some wanderers of other persuasions might say, ‘Gotama the contemplative speaks of the cessation of perception & feeling and yet describes it as pleasure. What is this? How is this?’ When they say that, they are to be told, ‘It’s not the case, friends, that th...

Your idea of "cessation" obviously cannot be sukha since the absence of consciousness cannot be sukha because sukha as an experience.

Re: What Ven.Ajahn Chah meant by "The Timeless Buddha"

So the Buddha was not enlightened in India. In fact he was never enlightened, was never born and never died. The Pali suttas say a Buddha is free from "birth" ("jati") & "death' ("marana") and a Buddha is not "a being" ("satta"; SN 22.85). SN 23.2 and SN 5.10 define "a being" as a "self-view". SN 1...

Brahmas cannot give up delight in oneness with phenomena and self-view. Refer to Brahma-Nimantanika Sutta (MN 49).

I adorned this body, so fancy, cooed over by fools, and stood at the brothel door, like a hunter laying a snare. https://suttacentral.net/thig5.2/en/sujato The above sounds rather politically incorrect, in it appears to say women are provocateurs (rather than men are aggressors & impregnators for p...

Re: Do arhants thought generate painful feeling ?

Thought is mental contact I’d be cautious of changing the Dhamma to suit your expectations. Thought is mental contact however any hateful cruel thought must be based on painful feelings. In the 2nd link of dependent origination, the suttas describe sankhara as comprised of three things: (i) breathi...

Re: What type of Jhana meditation Buddha practiced?

My dearest BrokenBones: not many have an understanding of buddhist jhana like you do. That is rare. BrokenBones has not demonstrated understanding of buddhist jhana. Birds of a feather. The statement, "Master Gotama surely gains them at will, without trouble or difficulty," implies that the Buddha ...

cruel thought comes from painful feeling. the Dhamma is not the personal experience of puthujjana. the Dhamma says feeling is first born from contact

The bottom line is there is no awareness of the physical body in jhana. The jhana li...

So you shy away from the definition of fourth jhana? I guess you go with the first part but the similes seem to leave egg on your face. Obviously unable to learn. The suttas in many places equate these terms with the jhanas. And the last time I looked... inserting words into a Sutta that aren't ori...

Well I've got all the Sutta books he wrote so I certainly have some idea. Sorry but we have been chatting for most of the week. Light weight stuff; just like the reply about MN 128. You are plainly upset at having been caught tampering with a Sutta... you can't make Dhamma conform to what you wish ...
