Is it possible the Government Agencies demand to release the content of these posts for some reason?
Nah, somehow I don't think the CIA is interested in a debate Buddhists are having about DO 3 life model vs DO 1 life model.

Are they deleted when the account is deactivated?
No, per the terms of service, they are not deleted, it would disrupt the flow of the conversations.

Re: reminder about deleting accounts policy

I noticed Binocular got hers deleted. Was that because she was from an EU state? No, not deleted, just deactivated (at her request). Once a user's account is deactivated, you can no longer see their profile, unless you're a mod or admin, maybe even just admins. The EU law does not apply, since we d...

reminder about deleting accounts policy

Just curious does after deactivation , the account info still intact and can be retrieved by someone ? Once a user's account has been deactivated, no one can click on their profile and see any info. The database which admins can see, only contains their email that they registered with and their IP,...

Re: What if all the beings in this world die at once?

. What if the moon is made of cheese and all the other beings in the universe go to live there? That would make walking quite gooey during summer time due to the melting of cheese. Wouldn't they eventually eat themselves out of a home? :D I suppose some could argue that we are doing that right now,...

Re: The Sri Lankan lay Arahant!!

Lots of knowledge (degrees, or informal knowledge from lots of readings, studies) + Sanskrit, Pali proficiency + Charismatic speaker Arahant

Knowledge is good, but doesn't necessarily mean that one is an arahant or even have any wisdom.

Re: Risk of taking vaccine jab

Not an effective bio weapon, because it mainly kills elderly people who are not economically active, or fit for military service. From what I have heard, from some who accept the conspiracy theories, is that is the point; it's about eliminating those who are not economically active and in fact drai...

Re: Any real life examples these days of Tetralemma (Catuskoti) fourfold negation? What would be the fifth ('true') corn

Here's a fun example for this topic: The Liar's Paradox Person x: "I am lying." If Person x really is lying, then he's telling the truth, which means he just lied. If "this sentence is false" is true, then it is false, but the sentence states that it is false, and if it is false, then it must be tru...

Re: Why schism?

Furthermore, isn't the schism causing the appearance of new Buddhist schools? There were many of them such as The Sautrāntika or Sutravadin (Sanskrit, Suttavāda in Pali;), Sarvastivada, Vibhajjavada, Pudgalavada, Mulasarvastivada, then later Theravada, Mahayana, Vajrayana, Tantrayana, secular Buddh...

Re: Is it breaking of Vinaya if a monastery set up an endowment fund?

Some times share market crash about 50%. So you can lose 50% of your investment. Not if you have it invested in ETFs, which are a mix of several top companies. The largest single day percentage drop was in 1987 at -22% (U.S. Dow Jones market). Nothing has come close to that drop in terms of percent...
