Re: concept of luck
Buddhism teaches Niyama or Pacaya. Kamma is only one of them. So chance or luck play a part in it too. ======= Causality The Abhidhamma teaches us that: there are natural laws which govern the universe (niyaama dhammaa); our mental and physical states arise dependent on causes — dependent originati...

Re: Is it possible to see khandhas?
I think the purpose of the satiratthana is to see the emergence and disappearance of dhammas. What you think is wrong. Here, a bhikkhu lives a seer ( anupassī ) of body with reference to the body... a seer of feelings with reference to feelings ... a seerer of mind with reference to the mind .... a...

Isn't it weird that the word hearing is used here instead of "listening to"?

Re: On the role of primary sources in Buddhism
The correct view from the Eightfold Path of the Noble one (the fourth Truth of the Noble one) is not a philosophically (mentally, logically, theoretically) correctly constructed view. This is a yogically (experimentally) correctly achieved and correctly described (inventorisied) view. I.e the word &...

Re: On the role of primary sources in Buddhism
Practice is the practice of concentration (samatha) and the practice of contemplation (vipassana). Neither one nor the other needs any philosophy.

On the role of primary sources in Buddhism
The philosophical study of the verbal cast from the yogic experience of the Buddha (sutra, tantra) in the hope that this will somehow generate the same yogic experience or help to generate it during yoga practice is a mistake. This is the misunderstood role of Buddhist primary sources. Their role is...

Is the practice described in the Vitakkasanthana Sutta (MN 20) a separate practice or is it one of the aspects of Vipassana practice?
