if someone asks what time it is and it's 5:58 and you say it's 6:00....is that breaking the precepts? This reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend who become a monk. He mentioned that he was obsessed with minute details about keeping precepts. he described it as being obsessed and paranoid...

The color of robes of the other Bhantes does not look like Sri Lankan tradition, what tradition do they follow? Are they from Dhammayut order? Theravada monks can wear robe...

Things are not at all straightforward. Not straight forward to me at all. Am trying to put myself in the shoe of the pilot who shot down the jet.... What sort of a person do I have to be, and what is in my mind to pull that trigger knowing that: 1) he is not in Turkey's air space 2) he is not hosti...
