And what is wrong livelihood? Scheming, persuading, hinting, belittling, and pursuing gain with gain. "And what, bhikkhus, is wrong livelihood? Scheming, talking, hinting, belittling, pursuing gain with gain: this is wrong livelihood. And what, monks, is wrong mode of livelihood? Trickery,[19]...

Re: Seeking further clarification on ‘nibbānaṁ padamaccutaṁ’
My main question is does this term apply to the arahant or to nibbāna itself (or are they the same?)
Any further background on Nibbānaṁ padamaccutaṁ is appreciated

This is the summary: “When the Buddha had attained extinguishment, The senior monk called Kassapa; Addressed the group of monks, Guarding the true Teaching. Re: need link to passage where devadatta creates a schism
i had previously disagreed with him when he shared bhikkhu sujato's post "why buddhists should be vegetarian" it has honestly opened my eyes to the subtle fault in vegetarianism as a moral philosophy. i myself prefer a plant-based diet, but the early texts clearly indicate that meat eating...

If Chan Buddhism, then he is correct, according to that tradition. There are Mahayana sutras that say meat is not allowable (L...

the idea of watching the nostrils has to be one of the stupidest permutations of the buddha's instructions
