Re: Engaged artists

I was just informed (maybe you know it already) that the makers of the movie "Baraka" made a new movie, I guess it is somehow as great, meditative and jolty as the first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp967YAAdNk&feature=share Incredible pictures and adjustment. Maybe those "arti...

Re: Why is it important to value and see our Conditions?

All is good as it is or is not.
That is a remarkable aspect which is in maybe in opposite to the OP claims or not. So it would need "further laborintation" Or did you just share some hope? Or in somehow "If you use it good it will be good..."

Re: The white man's burden, collective karma, Bodhisattva ideal

As long as there is a surface there is a refelction. So I wonder why this refelect mirror still refelcts/reacts (even unsupported as told...). "I" may wonder, a mirror does not. :sage: Still it reacts. How does it feel if one has gain such insight and is not able to help? Nothing gained. ...

Re: Why is it important to value and see our Conditions?

So what has been the preconditions to reach such an insight? Bodily stirrings? Caused by? Nothing has been reached. No doubt. Thanks for you example to show how easy one could mis to value his conditions and waste it (possibility) by missunderstanding their means. Looks like we are a good team. Per...

Re: The white man's burden, collective karma, Bodhisattva ideal

Yes, that was my question. What causes this burden to say that there is no burden if there is actually really no burden. Echoes are just reflections. It is no burden for a mirror to reflect the light. As long there is some sense of that, "ist Hopfen und Malz nicht verloren" it's not a los...

Re: Why is it important to value and see our Conditions?

Questions are usless yes but what are conditions that could be "yours"? Those which are caused by "myself" as well as the support out of gratitude which "myself" had received. Nothing is caused by self, not even "self" in quotation marks. If there is no more ...

Re: The white man's burden, collective karma, Bodhisattva ideal

An ignorat person does not fear anything. But the wise fears unwholesome mindstates of which moha-cetana is one of, while the unwise would even no have an idea that it exists. He is content with his ideas and consturts. Either the Buddha was ignorant or wise. If he had no fear then he was ignorant ...

Re: How much does labeling as good or evil has to do with it?

I am writing in light of my treads on veganism and coffee. I am begining to think that how we label certain things like coffee and veganism for instance influemces how it effects us. For instance, if you go on labeling coffee as a strong upper drug then it might end up having some of those effects ...

Re: Why is it important to value and see our Conditions?

This is somehow a very nice message which gives a lot of hope, but the problem of hope is that we easily rest on it. As long as there is something to hope, we do not start to act. On the other hand if there is hope for something not attainable then only futile distractive business will result. That...

Re: Arahants still experiencing pain AND suffering ?

whynotme, Who would feel pain if there is no more identification with it? Have you ever seen somebody bleeding and the thought, "Ohh, he must suffer", but as soon as you asked him, he even did not know that he bleeds. That is in case of uncounciousness out of ignorance. There is also the c...
