Re: Buddha appear lagging behind Jesus & Mohammed
By the time buddhists realise they are so much so in a state of denying it is too late , nothing much left for a defeatist . Something are so ingrained in the background of buddhists minds for thousands of years that they are not supposed to be so attached to the world , being despondent pessimistic...

Re: the Ayatanas and Paticca-samuppada
What is conditionality? Does it not mean how consciousness arises (every moment) based on a sense organ coming into contact with a sense object? There are 6 of these, and in Chinese agama suttas they call these six realms. And I truly believe these are the only realms we experience. In one of these...

Re: Completely wrong German translations of jhāna formula in Saṁyutta Nikāya
It also dies when people can't even tell the difference between an abstract scholarly debate and important fundamental core concepts. An embodied jhāna where sati, sampajano, vitakka, vicara, upekkha are percipient of the physical body and are doing vipassana and can attain nirvana while in jhāna (...

Re: Fasting for uposatha...
I listened to one Theravada monk talks on observing attha-sila and also a mahayana monk on obseving 8 precepts , both said if the liquid has sediments such as milk , fruit juice , soya drink etc it is not allowed . If honey mix with plain water is allowed because no sedimentation . Then your observa...

Re: Does eating meat generate bad karma?
"Sure, you can argue that eating meat is allowable. You can get away with it. That doesn’t mean that it’s a good thing. What if we ask, not what can I get away with, but what can I aspire to?" This question probably should be directed to all those on Pindapata monastics . What can them as...

Re: Fasting for uposatha...
Strictly speaking only plain water is allowed . Other added flavors drinks are not allowed . If a bit lenient many would take tea , coffee , coconut , soya , fruit juice , and cocoa drinks .

If monks going for almsround and demanding a vegetarian foods , that would cause wrong impressions and many confusions or troubles for lay people . Re: Buddha appear lagging behind Jesus & Mohammed
No, it directly relates to the OP topic. As said, if fame/popularity is your only metric, then religious figures can't even hold a candle to celebrities or sport stars. Compared to Jesus n Mohammed not some other dudes . And again, if fame/popularity is the metric, Jesus and Mohammed aren't ...

Re: Buddha appear lagging behind Jesus & Mohammed
If fame/popularity is the metrics being used, then the Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed combined would be far outnumbered in terms of "followers" when compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, Selena Gomez, or BTS! Try harder , topic is on religion not professional footballer star or some film star . :jumpin...

Re: Buddha appear lagging behind Jesus & Mohammed
It seems a unsurpassable person like the Buddha are not that popular , famous or well known compared to Jesus and Mohammed . It seems both Jesus and Mohammed followers are outnumbered the Buddha . Would it be possible buddhism try to catch up with them ? If fame/popularity is the metrics being used...
