Soul and self are separate words, separate issues, separate understandings.
If you treat these… the same, you will misunderstand.

Same consciousness? Such is Advaita, whereas Buddhism says it's inconstant,
a very changing, impermanent consciousness.

The anatta doctrine is not a kind of materialism. Buddhism does not deny the existence of "immaterial" entities, and it (at least traditionally) distinguishes bodily states from mental states. Soul is not declared, for or against, it may be, it may not be.

Self (in this discussion) remains unidentified, a mere claim, and you refuse to back it up!
